During the 1970s, some excavations in the area of Viale Lecco, in Como, brought some remains of Roman baths to light.
More recents work, for the construction of a multi level parking, led to the discovery of more ruins and even some fragments of frescoes.
The remains of Roman baths date back to the 1st-2nd centuries, when the city of Como was under the Roman empire.
The archaeological site is open to the public only on Saturdays from 10 am to 6 pm.
However, you can always see the archaeolological ruins from the ground floor, which lies beneath the new parking garage.
